Benchmark Theatre Announces Final Production of 2017 Season, Smokefall

Denver, CO -

Benchmark Theatre announces the regional premiere of Noah Haidle’s Smokefall as the final production of their inaugural season, opening December 1st. Directed by Rachel Rogers, the play chronicles a family’s mystical discovery of the fragility of life and the power of love from the poignantly bittersweet to the hilariously perceptive.

The production opens Friday, December 1st and runs through Saturday, December 23rd with performances Thursday – Saturday evenings at 8pm and Sunday evenings at 6pm. Tickets are $30 for general admission and $20 for students/seniors/military. The company is partnering with Buntport Theatre and will be utilizing their venue for the run of the show at 717 Lipan Street in Denver. Magical realism collides with manic vaudeville in a family drama unlike any you’ve ever seen. Fetuses swap philosophy while awaiting their birth, a daughter eats dirt and doesn’t speak, a father is about to drive away and never return, and there’s an apple tree growing through the walls of the house. Whipping from astonishing tenderness to profound humor and back again, Smokefall explores the lives of a family in a lyrical treatise on the fragility of life and the power of love. Presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service.

Please note that this production is for ages 13 and up.
